Degermination methods Ozone

Development:
When oxygen, which is contained in the air by 20%, is fortified with energy (for example electrical energy of thunderbolts or UV-rays), the oxygen molecule absorbs the energy and converts itself into high-energy ozone. Ozone is highly reactive which means it reacts with most of all substances and again releases the applied energy in these reactions.
If the ozone molecule does not find a reactant it will degenerate after a while (20 minutes to 1 hour) to its normal oxygen-form and will release energy in the form of heat.
If the ozone molecule gets in contact with bacteria, viruses, chemicals, solvents, etc. before its collapse, the particals will be oxidated. This means they absorb energy and are eliminated in the process.
Usage:
Ozone has been used for disinfection of drinking water for over 100 years in the municipal waterindustry in Europe.
Main areas of application in Germany are in swimming-pool and drinking-water areas. The procedure is also used in wastewater treatment.
Even some industrial sewage is purified through ozonization. Different procedures for ozone-treatment of very complex, metalliferous, cyanide-containing sewage were developed in various branches, especially chemical, film- and photo-processing establishments, waste management and communes.
No risk for the environment:
Ozonization and its reactive effect deactivate bacteria and viruses quickly. The problematic use of chlorine in water-degermination can be reduced to some extent through ozonization.
The disinfective effect of ozonization ist not permanent compared to chlorination because ozone is very unstable and reacts fast with organic water-ingredients. This can lead to secondary infections when ozone-free water comes through long water pipes and ends up in the tap.
Ozone disappears without any waste material as soon as it is consumed because ozone is built out of pure oxygen and collapses into pure oxygen.
In general there are no side effects or byproducts when ozone deactivates or oxidates harmful bacteria or polluted particals contrary to other disinfectants, for example Chlorine.
Inovation:
WaterVitt has new developments that combine ozone with UV-radiance. The equipment-measurements vary from a large sector of 10 m3 water h-1 to more than 30.000 m3 water h-1.
The advantages in using ozone for water-treatment / water-degermination have most of all agricultural aspects. The expensive use of chemicals can be reduced or avoided. This applies accurately to the political and agricultural demands of the Environmental Protection Organization.
